I recently had this thought based on a convo I had and it clicked in my head today, so I genuinely want to know if this is just a me thing or if you guys relate? Pls lemme know!! Ok so:

Something that I have noticed happen to me a lot is that if I’m tired or sleepy, but I still need to pray before the next prayer time (or for Isha, before I go to bed), I usually plan to just pray and then go to sleep or take a nap immediately after. But, plot twist. Every time I’m tired before I pray, praying suddenly gives me this burst of energy. So I had this thought — prayer is essentially an escape from this world, right? Because it’s a time where you can shamelessly block out this Dunya and have those daily (and much needed) conversations with Allah (swt) and focus on your Akhirah. Which brings me back to my main point of prayer being so rejuvenating that it quite literally renews your energy. This feeling makes me realize how important that mental break from all of the noise in this Dunya is for us and how fortunate we are to have that ingrained into our daily lives. I strongly believe that we should take advantage of our 5 daily prayers for our own sake. A lot of times people correlate meditation with breathing exercises and relaxing, but spiritual meditation exists too and I think it is so so beautiful that Islam incorporates that into our daily lives and allows us to take a break from this world, and to focus on our conversation with our Lord.
