This post is gonna be a little too cliché for me BUT pictures hold so much more value than people think. Abruptly having to leave Blacksburg for what is about to be a year is one of the most not-ideal things that a lot of us have had to do during our college careers. But Blacksburg was never home because of the drillfield or the wind that was as piercing as my voice when you hear it for the first time :D; Blacksburg, for me, was home because of the people and the memories that I made there.
I look back at pictures from last year at least once or twice a week because they help me appreciate the mems I did make rather than dwell on the fact that I couldn’t make more with the same people as last year. A lot of my closest friends who made my first year at Tech one of the best years of my life graduated last year (🥺) and I can’t say topping that is ever gonna be easy. Even the smallest of conversations that I’ve had with people hold some significance (probs more on this in another post).
But holding on to pictures help me hold my loved ones so much closer despite how physically far away they are and keep me happy when I remember all of the best and sweetest memories I’ve made, aH.
